The Rt Rev William George Peel, DD (1854 - 15 April 1916) was the Anglican Bishop of Mombassa in what is now Kenya.〔“Mombasa Cathedral and the CMS Compound”: History in Africa – Volume 35, 2008, pp. 209–229 ISSN: 0361-5413〕 He was accused of heresy in the Kikuyu controversy.〔 ==Biography== He was born in 1854, educated at Blackheath Proprietary School, 〔"Who was Who" 1897–1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 0-7136-3457-X.〕 and ordained in 1875. After a Curacy in Trowbridge he went out as a missionary to India where he rose to be Principal of Noble College Masulipatam.
